An update to EBSCO Discovery Service, or EDS for short (also known as the big search box on our homepage!), is coming November 15, 2023, but you can preview the New EDS today!
New EDS features include:
- Ground-up redevelopment of EDS.
- Improved search and interface usability.
- Concept map feature to help develop a search strategy.
- New Publication Finder interface to locate specific journals, books, or other publications.
- Enhanced "MyEBSCO" account profile features, including project folders.

Some additional notes on the launch of New EDS:
- The launch is set for November 15, 2023!
- MyEBSCO account content from the "old" version of EDS will not migrate automatically to the New EDS. However, you can merge accounts after November 15, 2023 if created with an email and password combination. Read the "How to Merge Personal User Accounts" FAQ from EBSCO for details. Unfortunately, MyEBSCO accounts created using the "Sign in with Google" option cannot be merged yet. EBSCO is working on adding this as an option, but content in these MyEBSCO accounts will not migrate on launch. Please backup any saved articles and works in these accounts using the export tools in EBSCO.
- Saved links to specific articles and other works while previewing New EDS, like those created using the Share tools in New EDS, may change after launch and may not work correctly post-launch. Always save the citation information of the work so you can find it again or download it when possible.
- While unavailable at launch, EBSCO is now testing AI features for future incorporation like natural language search, improved evaluation of search results through summaries and key insights, and conversational interactivity with source documents.
The links below are tutorials and documentation from EBSCO on the new interface. Note that some features, mostly colors, may differ from the video tutorials and what you see when you click our customized version.
