The Ebook Central Reader App is a new, dedicated mobile and desktop app designed for reading downloaded ebooks from the ProQuest Ebook Central platform.
It replaces Adobe Digital Editions as the primary offline reading solution, offering a streamlined, secure, and accessible experience for students and researchers. The app supports EPUB and PDF formats, allows users to manage their loans and devices, and is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
In order to enable offline reading, users will have to register their device(s) using the app after signing into the PG Library with their student portal credentials and visiting ProQuest Ebook Central where they will be automatically authenticated.
To register a device, users must first sign in to their Ebook Central account and enter the 7-digit registration code in the app. If the code is lost or the registration screen is closed, users can easily retrieve a new code:
- Users navigate to ProQuest Ebook Central
- Select the Profile section from the top menu bar
- Find "EBC APP DEVICES" and click on Manage / Get Code
- Select Get Registration Code
- Enter the 7-digit code from the pop-up dialog in the corresponding registration fields in the app
