If while searching in the Cochrane Library, you find a resource that you would like to read but there is only citation and abstract information for it, you can search the Library to see if we have access to it in another database. Below is an example search starting in Cochrane and then moving to the Library homepage .
Once you are in Cochrane Library, look in the upper right hand corner for the search box. Type: bedside shift report
Click on the magnifying glass to perform the search.
There will only be two items in the results list. If you click on either title you will notice that there is no access to the full text of the article.
You can search the library to see if the full text is available in our other databases.
To do that, head over to the library's homepage. In the search box there, type the title of the article: Bedside nurse-to-nurse handoff promotes patient safety
Then, change the drop down menu so that the word Title appears. This way, only titles will be looked at when the search is performed.
Click on Search.
If we have access to it, it should be at the top of the results list. Click on PDF to access it.
If we do not have access to the article, you can then request the it via our Document Delivery service.
