Below is an example of where you can find information about the author in the library and then by doing a Google search. 
 
In the results list, click on the title of an article to get to the detailed record.
Click on PDF Full Text to access the article.
 
 
 
After clicking on the title of the article, you will see the detailed record.  If there is any author information, it will be listed under Affiliations
That means what college or university they work for. 
 
 
If you click on PDF Full Text to access the article, you may find author information at the top of the article like this one has, or sometimes at the end of the article.  This one also has the degrees that the authors earned listed after their names.

If you do not see the degrees listed, but you do see the universities that the author is associated with, then you can do a google search for that author and university/college to try and find that person's faculty page.
